Earlier this week The Sun revealed how bosses had feared they would have to delay the show – a ratings juggernaut for ITV.

The series aired a Christmas special during the festive period with judges Amanda Holden, 49, David Walliams, 49, Alesha Dixon, 42, and Ashley Banjo, 32, joining former stars to perform.
